MICROFACTORY ECOSYSTEM

One module. Already the whole ecosystem.

Every ESSERT module is built on the MicroFactory Ecosystem: standardized modularity with the same core, the same interfaces, the same controls and software. That is why one cell can run alone today, join a line next year, and dock to the machine you already own.

PEOPLE IN THE LINE

A workstation docks like a module.

Not every step needs a robot on day one. A manual workstation takes the same place on the conveyor as a module, and the line keeps running. When volumes grow, a module takes the step over. When a module goes into service, a person steps in and production goes on.

The line grows with your people, at the pace your numbers allow.

Production

Ramp up with the team you have. Automate the step that hurts first.

Engineering

One conveyor interface for modules, workstations and the machines you already own.

Quality

The modules around a swapped step keep their status.

WHAT CHANGES, WHAT STAYS

Change the product. Keep the line and its papers.

Designed for changeovers in under 15 minutes.

A new product is a new recipe on the same modules, with no format parts to change. The software sets the line up, cameras check line clearance.

Qualified module by module.

Every module passes its own acceptance test and brings its own documentation. Only then is the line composed for performance runs and final acceptance. Add a module later, and you document the addition, not the line.

YOUR FIRST MODULE

The entry is a module, not a line project.

One module. Qualified on its own. Nothing else decided yet.

1

Assessment

We look at your process and your floor and tell you which step a module takes over first.

2

One module

One MicroFactory Core, one process on top, qualified on its own, running in your production. It earns its place before anything else is decided.

3

The line

When volumes grow or the product changes, the module stays and the next one docks. Your investment moves with you.

After the handover

The people who built your system stay with it: PQ support, ramp-up, preventive maintenance, spare parts. From Bruchsal, Germany and Morrisville, North Carolina.

WHERE THIS GOES

The therapies of the future will be made in factories that never stand still: modular cells doing the critical work, material moving without a single manual step, and people leading production instead of carrying it. We will build that factory, module by module, day by day.

FAQ

Questions we get asked.

Is the MicroFactory Ecosystem a product?

No. It is the platform every ESSERT solution is built on: the MicroFactory Core under every module (frame, interfaces, controller, safety, module software) and the Process Control Center that runs a line of them. RoboTub, the MicroFactory assembly lines and the packaging cells are products built on it.

Does every ESSERT module use the same MicroFactory Core?

Yes, in several widths. The frame, the interface, the controller, the safety architecture and the software are identical. What differs is the process on top.

Can a single module run on its own?

Yes. Every module has its own controller, safety controller and operator panel. It runs alone and joins a line later without changes to the module.

Can I add a module to a line that is already validated?

Yes. The new module is qualified on its own. The line keeps its status; you document the addition, not the whole line.

Does it work with the machines I already have?

Infeed and outfeed modules dock to your filling, inspection or sealing machines through the conveyor interface. Your machine controls and safety concept stay as they are.

Which cleanroom class is supported?

The stainless GMP version is designed for cleanrooms up to ISO 7.

Can a person work in the line?

Yes. A manual workstation takes a place in the line the way a module does. When volumes grow, a module takes the step over. When a module is in service, a person can take the step in the meantime.
